Welcome to Tanglewood, a magnificent, mature residential community strategically located on the west side of Houston, Texas, just north of the Galleria. In the 1940’s through the acquisition of 750 acres in two separate land transactions, the William G. Farrington Company established Tanglewood, just west of Interstate 610 (Loop 610). In January of 1949, 32 residential lots were placed on the market and collectively, these lots became known as Section 1 of Tanglewood. In 1951 the Washington D.C. National Association of Home Builders recognized Tanglewood as one of the five best planned subdivisions in the United States; the growth continued through 1959.
