Welcome to Silverlake, a magnificent residential community strategically located on the northwest side of Pearland, Texas, just 12 miles from the renowned Texas Medical Center. Silverlake was developed in April of 1995 by the Jefferson and Johnson Development Company and is divided into twenty individual neighborhoods and a section of townhomes; which collectively comprise over 2740 single family residences and over 55 townhomes.
Silverlake is an 1,800 acre master planned community in the heart of the Pearland market area and is governed by Silverlake Homeowners Association. Silverlake is located just outside Beltway 8, east of Highway 288 in Brazoria County. It is bound on the north by FM 518, the west by Cullen Parkway, the east by Highway 288 and the south by Bailey Road.

Anyone interesting in having a garage sale must register with the city of Pearland Permit Department at 3523 Liberty Drive, Pearland, TX 77581. There is a $15.00 charge for the permit and the City of Pearland will provide you with three garage sale signs. The applications may be obtained from the City of Pearland’s website but you must pay the fee in person. For more information you may contact the permitting department at 281-652-1623.
The City of Pearland – Public Works Streets & Drainage division maintains all public streets, except those owned by the state (FM 518 and Highway 35). This department is also responsible for pothole repairs, making and installing new street signs, maintaining traffic signals and stop signs, cleaning the ditches and easements along the roadways, and maintaining the underground storm sewers to meet the needs of the citizens and businesses of Pearland.
Residential trash collection requires the use of disposable plastic or paper bags and is not to exceed a total weight of 50 pounds. The trash is collected either on Tuesday and Friday or on Wednesday & Saturday every week (depending on the section in which you reside; except for holidays) and must be placed curbside by 7:00 a.m., but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the previous evening.
Recyclables are picked up on either Friday or Saturday morning (depending on the section in which you reside; except for holidays) and must be curbside by 7:00 a.m., but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the previous evening. Acceptable items include newspapers, glass bottles and jars, aluminum and steel cans, clear or translucent plastic milk, and soda bottles, and #2 plastics, magazines, catalogs, telephone books, printer and copier paper, cereal boxes, and mail. Please do not include food stained products or wax lined paper items such as milk cartons.

Yard and brush trimmings are collected weekly and must meet the following guidelines. Brush and tree limbs must be cut to a length not to exceed 48 inches, tied in bundles not to exceed 18 inches in diameter and no more than 50 pounds in weight. Landscape waste and lawn clippings may be accumulated and placed in clear plastic bags for collection and recycling.
All trash, recyclables, yard and brush trimmings must be stored out of public view except on collection days. The following holidays are observed by the City of Pearland; New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
